The rules in Beach Badminton are very similar to those of Badminton although there are some basic differences regarding the size of the court and the scoring system. More specifically there are a number of versions of this game. The size of the court for Beach Badminton compared to a normal badminton court for both singles and doubles is 5 m x 12 m. With this the slow down factor and the greater effort which is required depending on the surface must be taken into account. The singles court for outdoor Beach Badminton is relatively big despite the difficulty of the surface given that because of the wind the size of the court used by most players cannot be used as it is in Badminton. A basic difference compared to Badminton is the service area in singles. In doubles the service is usually diagonal while in singles the player may serve over the entire width of the court.
