Calcio Balilla

Calcio Balilla

Calcio balilla is a game that was invented by the Galician (Spanish) Alejandro Finisterre and which simulates a soccer game on a table in which the players move the small footballers (called men or little men) on rods inserted through the side panels of a special table trying to hit a ball (from 32mm to 34mm in diameter sometimes with holes) and push it into the opposing goal.

In Italy it is also popularly known as biliardino or calcetto; there are also other local names. The international names for this game are table football, table soccer, foosball, foosing, futbolin. It is a typical game of amusement arcades and especially youth clubs. The giusbalino (or jusbalino) is a variation of calcio balilla designed for two players; at the table there are only four rods with the goalkeepers and defenders in pairs.
