On 17/9, a Paratriathlon event for disabled athletes will be held in Italy for the very first time, along with the Elite and Age Group categories. The Italian Triathlon Federation has decided that Lido delle Nazioni is the ideal place for starting up a relationship with the disabled Italian and foreign athletes who have been admitted to the forthcoming Paralympics in Brazil in 2016. The event consists in 3 consecutive and continuative trials, as follows: 0.750 km of swimming, 20 km of cycling and 5 km of running.
In Comacchio, at 4.00 p.m., the Sala Polivalente San Pietro will be hosting a conference open to all Italian Sports Coaches and athletes, entitled “PARATRIATHLON come conoscerlo” (PARATRIATHLON. Getting to know all about it).
On 18/9, the spotlight will be focused on the prestigious Italian Olympic Triathlon Championship, categories “Elite” and “Age Group”, following the same procedures and the same courses as the day before, but with distances of 1.5 km of swimming, 40 km of cycling and 10 km of running.
